At Desi Switch, we follow a structured and customer-friendly process to make sure fees are applied only when necessary.

Rental Fee

At checkout

Covers your 5-day rental period and standard cleaning after return.

Retail Value Charge (for Rentals)

At checkout (rentals only)

We charge the dress’s retail value upfront. After return and inspection, we deduct the rental fee (and any applicable fees), then refund the remaining balance.

48-Hour Cancellation Grace (Rentals)

After order confirmation (within 48 hours)

A 48-hour grace period applies to rentals after order confirmation. Orders may be canceled within this period for a full refund with no late fees, and any remaining amount will be refunded. After the grace period, a $20 per day fee will be deducted from the rental amount. After 10 days, the platform will deduct the full retail amount.

After order confirmation (within 48 hours)

A 48-hour grace period applies after order confirmation. Orders may be canceled within this window for a full refund, with no late fees applied. Any remaining amount will be refunded. After the grace period, customers cannot cancel the order.

Late Return Fee (Rentals)

After return due date

A $20 per-day late fee is applied if the item is returned after the 48-hour grace period. Fees continue until the item is returned.

Inspection Process

After item is returned

Every returned item goes through a quality inspection to check condition, damage level, and missing components before closing the rental.

Minor Damage Fee

If light, repairable damage is found

Partial charges may apply based on repair or cleaning costs (e.g., light stains, loose embellishments).

Major Damage Fee

If significant or irreversible damage is found

Higher charges may apply, up to the item’s full retail value, depending on damage severity.

Lost or Non-Returned Item

If item is not returned

Continued non-return may result in charging the full retail value and possible account suspension.
